Here at The Sunshine Coast Dog Obedience Club we are dedicated to promoting responsible canine citizenship on the Sunshine Coast. From basic obedience commands to advanced tricks, dog training is a rewarding and engaging experience for you and your dog. Just as every new human member of a household must be trained to behave properly, so must dogs.
If you have a dog in your life, you already know what joy your pooch brings. We’ll show you some benefits that you might not have known about.
Welcome to the Sunshine Coast Dog Obedience Clubs website!
When do i start training my dog?
Training should start from the day you bring your new dog home! Puppies, like children are not born knowing what the rules are, even older dogs may not have learned the rules you want him to follow. It’s up to the owner to teach the dog right from wrong and to behave how a responsible canine citizen should as we do our children.
You can’t bring home your new puppy and expect him to know how to behave in your house, patience, consistency and reward based teaching will guide your puppy into a well-behaved dog.
We take puppies from 14weeks into Obedience Classes.
No matter how much experience you've had, classes are advisable for and new dog. Whether its a puppy or an older, rescued dog. The benefits dogs receive from taking part in group glasses are significant.
All dogs are different and will benefit from slightly varied approaches in training. Furthermore, having an experienced trainer on hand will prevent you from making mistakes with your new dog that maybe your old dog enjoyed.
The Sunshine Coast Dog Obedience club has been servicing the Sunshine coast for over 20yrs, promoting responsible canine citizenship. Our trainers here at The SCDOC have extensive experience and a passion for dogs! We use positive, reward based training techniques that prove.
The SCDOC is a non-profit, 100% volunteer-run organization, we have classes available for all experience levels. Every dog learns and experiences things differently, we aim to provide each individual with the training techniques they require to communicate properly with their furry friend.
